TACLOBAN CITY – The fever is up again on who would get the province’s top singing talent as the provincial government of Leyte is set to hold the Grand Finals night for its Season 4 Search for Leyte IDOL Special Edition.
Organizers of the talent search however pitched this season would be double the fun as the search is also on for the Leyte Band Idol that would choose the best bands from this side of the music.
After months of searching, eight grand finalists have emerged to compete Leyte Singing Idol division in the grand finals to take place on March 28 at the Leyte National High School Gymnasium and have a chance to take home P200,000 worth of prize and the chance to be Leyte’s singing sensation for 2009.
2009’s Grand Finalists include Jeffrey Callosa of Palo, Leyte; Natasha Mae Resos of Maasin, City Southern Leyte; Leih Ann Arcales Catbalogan Samar; Aprille Joy Campanero, Giporlos, Eastern Samar; Ibona Panto of Ormoc City; Jefferson Cabataña of Tacloban City; Janine Faith Tiempo of Tacloban and Brian Gilles of Southern Leyte.
Meanwhile, the finalists for the first ever Band Idol category include Bripny Skwr of Tacloban City, 7 Foot Echo and Siete Palabras Bands of Ormoc City; Yawtakis, Genecity and ICE (In Case of Emergency) Bands all of Maasin City, Southern Leyte; Frail of Jaro, Leyte and Crave of Matalom, Leyte.
The Leyte Idol Band Grand Finals is set on March 21 at the RTR Plaza .
Aside from being judged of their performance during the finals night, the grand finalists would also be judged for their popularity via online voting through Idol’s online media partner

The online voting is powered by Mr. Jason Pascual’s POS Technology Solutions, Leyte IDOL’s technology partner which is among the number technology-based locator at the Leyte ICT Park .
Popular music artists and experts in the national music industry are being invited to form the members of the board of judges to select the next singing sensation and band.
Meanwhile, the IDOL secretariat is enjoining all supporters, friends and family of the grand finalists to phone in their votes to add points to the total score of the eight contenders.
The provincial government of Leyte through Leyte Governor Carlos Jericho Petilla vows to continue to discover singing talents and help them develop and explore their potentials for personal development and later for professional practice.
