Nightly presentations will be conducted at the RTR Plaza starting on
April 25 when the 8th ID Band and the Leyte Section Band will be featured. In the same night, the Talent presentation of the candidates for the Mr and Miss Palarong Pambansa 2009 will be conducted at the Leyte National High School Gym.
Subiran Regatta, the Dragon Boat Race exhibition will be held on
April 23 to 25 at the Cancabato Bay at the Family Park along Magsaysay Boulevard.
April 26 is Hip Hop Night Battle of the Champions at the RTR Plaza while at the Leyte National High School Gym, the Search for Mr and Miss Palarong Pambansa 2009 will be conducted.
April 27 is Musikahan Night at RTR Plaza featuring the Ambassadors of Palo and the Men in Stripes, the Singing Priests. At the LNHS Gym, the Dance Sports Competition will be conducted while the Secretary's Reception will be held at the Leyte Park Hotel Pool Villa.
On April 28, the cultural presentation of the world renowned Leyte Kalipayan Dance Company will be shown at RTR Plaza while at the Capitol Terrace the Governors of Region 8 will tender a reception to distinguished guests.
On
April 29, a Subiran Regatta competition will be conducted at the Cancabato Bay at the Family Park while in the afternoon the Tanauan National Skimboarding Competition will open at the Bantay Dagat Area in Tanauan, Leyte.
At the RTR Plaza on
April 29 is the Rakrakan Music featuring Warak, Bisrock and local Bands while on
April 30, a Gathering of Stars will be presented.
On
May 1, the Leyte Section Band and the LNU Cultural Group will be featured at the RTR Plaza while on
May 2, a musical dance drama of Calbayog City will be featured.
On
May 3 is the Paalam Night which will be held at the Leyte Sports Development Center, featuring the ICOT Leyte Band and ICOT Idol Circle of Winners.

President Gloria Macapagal Arroyo, national officials and figures and World Boxing Council super featherweight champion Manny Pacquiao lead the cast of invited VIPs to grace the opening of the 2009 Palarong Pambansa this April hosted by the provincial government of Leyte.
With at least 600-man delegations from the all 17 regions, the total expected athletes and coaches can go up to more than 10,000 excluding other guests and visitors.
This year’s 2009 Palarong Pambansa is Leyte’s opportunity to host since 1983.
