Tentative schedule for the plebiscite will be on December 6, 2008.
By this week City Comelec will announce the true date of the plebiscite.

Tacloban is not ready yet to become a highly Urbanized City because:

Taclobanons have no idea what is the net income of Tacloban City
How much is its total loan obligations? how much amortizations does it pay monthly
It will not receive the 90 million IRA that will be lost to the province of Leyte once it becomes an HUC
It has no financial district
no clear other sorces of income other than being a trading post in Eastern Visayas.
Definitely Taxes will rise despite profuse denial of Mayor Alfred
it will not benefit tacloban City and the Taclobanuns
Barangays will definitely be merged as what happened to Baguio
It has no manufacturing sector
the Romualdez family is not even investing in TAcloban City or in Leyte how can they attract investors?

the city is selling the market stalls to davaoenos who can afford to buy stalls rather than provide

Robinsons came to tacloban despite the fact that it is not yet an HUC (Gov. Icot is responsible in bringing them en

SM wants to set up SM supermall here even if TAcloban is not an HUC. (its the politics at the cityhall and the greed of
some persons high up in the cityhall that stalls it because they want to corner the sale of choiced properties plus
